Scholarships for Teacher Education Students

There is more suport than ever for teacher education students in New Mexico. We strongly encourage students to apply for all scholarships that are applicable to their situation. Please read the criteria for each scholarship and apply if you are eligible.

NM Opportunity Scholarship

The New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship allows established New Mexico residents of all ages to pursue college and career training tuition-free. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees at New Mexico public colleges and universities. Students must enroll in at least 6 credit hours and be pursuing credit-bearing career training certificates, associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees.

NM Early Childhood Education and Care Department Scholarship

The New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD), in partnership with CNM-Ingenuity, provides Early Childhood Scholarship opportunities to make it possible for early childhood professionals to complete coursework leading to advanced credentials and degrees.

Teacher Preparation Affordability Scholarship Program

The Teacher Preparation Affordability Scholarship Program was created to encourage eligible New Mexico students to attend and complete an accredited teacher preparation program at a New Mexico public post-secondary educational institution or a tribal college approved by the public education department. The scholarship helps defray the educational expenses charged, including tuition, fees, books and course supplies and living expenses.
