Hoping for a better future? Get your High School Equivalency credential with  Adult Education (AE) @ Northern New Mexico College.

Adult Education (AE) is a program funded by the state of New Mexico and federal government. We provide free tuition, materials, and access to other college services.

The following dates are for the Adult Education Term Calendar FY 2025:

Orientation for Adult Education: January 8, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. for all new students (located in AD104 in the Administration Building).

Online: January 13 – March 7, 2025 (8-week term) Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

In-Person: January 15 – March 6, 2025 (8-week term) Wednesdays and Thursdays, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

ESL: January 13 – March 6, 2025 (8-week term) Monday thru Wednesday, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

We offer educational advisement, library access, and tutoring to better assist adult learners with the following:

  • High School Equivalency (HSE) Exam, an exam in which a passing score results in a credential equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • English and mathematics
  • Life skills for student success
  • Basic computer skills
  • We now offer Civics and Citizenship. We also offer job search skills and career preparation courses.

Our facilities include a computer lab that allows students to work on improving writing, math, language as well as basic computer skills. We are located at Northern New Mexico College on the Española Campus.
