In 1983 I spent the summer after high school graduation at Northern New Mexico Community College. I anticipated going into agriculture.

I had no idea that the currents of life would take me into the biomedical field.  I spent several years as a technician, student, and finally, post-doctoral fellow in research.  I then left biomedical science - for the time being -  to become a full time caregiver.  This was the formative experience of my life. More recently I was reacquainted with the world of our youngest citizens, as a tutor and family navigator at Penasco Schools.

I am now back at Northern as an instructor in the High School Equivalency Program.  My role as a team member helping people attain their high school diplomas is very rewarding.
