Nursing @Northern
Northern has a long tradition of excellence in nursing education. We've been teaching nurses to meet the healthcare needs of our community since 1973.
Today we offer a nursing career ladder from Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), to pre-licensure ACEN-accredited Associate Degree Nursing program (RN) and a CCNE-accredited holistic RN to BSN completion program, as well as a AAS in Allied Health and a certificate in Phlebotomy.
Our nursing graduates can be found working at the bedside, in the community, and in leadership position both locally and nationally.
We are proud of our nursing and allied health programs, the diversity of our faculty and students, and our graduates who serve our community every day in a variety of healthcare settings. Nursing & Health Sciences (NHS) is committed to serving the educational needs of our cultureally diverse region. I hope that you will join us.

100% NCLEX-RN Pass Rate
For the second year in a row, graduates of the Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program had a 100-percent pass rate of the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) licensure exam on their first try.
"Northern is extremely proud of our Nursing Program and of the amazing accomplishments of these students," said NNMC President Hector Balderas. "A perfect passage rate is not only proof of these students' dedication and commitment to their education but shows that they and Northern are leading the way in providing the high-quality healthcare that is highly needed in our communities.”

Northern’s location in Española, N.M., the “heart of Northern New Mexico,” helped to shape its distinctive holistic RN to BSN Program. We are in a geographical and cultural center for natural healers and complementary and integrative practices. Community members continue to embrace ancient Hispanic and indigenous healing practices alongside conventional allopathic methods. This was the foundation for developing an integral holistic nursing program through NNMC’s Nursing and Health Sciences in 2008.
