Great Scholarships for Teacher Education Students
Pursuing a career in education is both a noble and rewarding path, and at Northern New Mexico College, we are committed to supporting our future educators. We strongly encourage all students to explore and apply for scholarships that can help ease the financial burden of their educational journey. Below are several scholarship opportunities specifically designed to assist teacher education students.
Teacher Residency Program
The New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) is enhancing teacher preparation to address staffing shortages by increasing diversity, strengthening clinical practice, and addressing educational inequities from the Yazzie/Martinez case. Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) partners with NMPED to support teacher residency candidates through a structured two-semester placement with a master teacher, progressively building classroom responsibilities to ensure candidates are well-prepared for their roles.
